The short version. We collect only what we need to tell you about Questline and to run your order. We never sell it. A few overseas services help us run the business, and they're named below. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it within 5 working days.
Who we are
Questline is a business name of Mihalis Bitolas, a sole trader in South Australia (ABN 58 326 034 767). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Questline.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. As a small business, we may not be legally bound by them, but we follow them anyway.
What we collect
- When you join the launch list: your name, your email address, what you'd use Questline for, and which page you came from.
- When you order: your name, email, phone number and business name, what you bought, how many people the licence covers, and any referral code. We also keep the invoices and the payments made against them.
- When you contact us: whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the site: your browser sends your IP address to the services that deliver the page and its fonts (see the table below). We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we never ask for your passwords. You can contact us without giving your name, though we can't take an order that way.
Why we collect it
- To email you about Questline's launch, the free starter and updates you asked for.
- To process your order, deliver your files, issue your licence and invoices, and support you.
- To pay referral partners the commission they've earned on your order, if you used a partner's code.
- To keep the records the law requires. Invoices are kept for 5 years, as the ATO requires.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't use it for anything you wouldn't reasonably expect from the above.
Emails from us
We only send marketing emails to people who've asked for them, for example by joining the launch list. Every one says who it's from and has a working unsubscribe link. We act on an unsubscribe within 5 working days and keep a record of when and how you signed up, as the Spam Act 2003 requires. Emails about an order you placed (invoices, delivery) still come after you unsubscribe from marketing.
Who helps us, and where your information goes
These services store or handle information for us. Some are overseas, so your information may be held in or accessed from the countries listed.
| Service | What it does for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Tally | Our sign-up and order forms. It stores what you submit. | Belgium (EU) |
| Google (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Fonts) | Our email, delivering your files, and the site's fonts | United States and other countries where Google operates |
| Anthropic (Claude) | The AI assistant we use to keep our customer and order records and help with our admin | United States |
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website and protecting it from attacks. It sees visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages. | United States, served through its worldwide network |
| Our email list service | Sending launch and update emails named before the first email | named before the first email |
We choose services that protect information well, and we only give them what they need to do their job.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information: we secure the accounts it's held in, keep our own payment details out of shared records, and limit who can see it. A referral partner sees your details only when they're doing your setup or tailoring. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
How long we keep it
- Launch list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Orders and invoices: 5 years after the end of the financial year they belong to, as tax law requires.
- Everything else: only as long as we need it for the reasons above.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Email us at Questline email, set up with the domain to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll reply within 30 days, and it's free. If the law requires us to keep something, such as an invoice, we'll tell you.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your information, email us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll email the people it affects.
